Studio Visit Magazine
I am very pleased to announce that my work has been included in Vol. 25 (2014) of Studio Visit Magazine, a juried series of artist books. My paintings are featured on page 25.
Also in this issue is Susan Emmerson (page 70) a fellow graduate from the MFA program at Lesley University College of Art and Design, and Page Coleman (page 47), an artist and gallery owner in Albuquerque. Page was also one of my mentors during the LUCAD MFA program, and was instrumental in my exploration of color during the program.

MAS Attack Comes to Albuquerque July 19, 2014
If you're in Albuquerque, stop by MAS Attack on July 19 at Creative Albuquerque's downtown location. It's a one night art exhibition and social gathering with artists from Albuquerque and Los Angeles.
Saturday, July 19, 7 to 11pm
Creative Albuquerque
115 Fourth Street NW
(no charge for entry)
Here are some links to learn more about MAS (Mutual Appreciation Society) Attack:
Alibi: "Imagine a festive “one-night-only” art event more like a rock concert than a gallery opening. No fancy, self-conscious people milling about a cavernous, half-empty gallery space sipping chardonnay from plastic cups. Instead, a low-key venue that holds over 50 accomplished artists and their boisterous fans in a crowded space jam-packed with overlapping artwork. And the main aim of the night? For artists to network and socialize. (No sales allowed!)"

Local IQ: "For one night only, Albuquerque is being invaded — by artists. MAS ATTACK, a city-to-city exhibit put on by ARTRA Curatorial, hails from Los Angeles. It is a project designed to put together 30 L.A. artists with 30 Albuquerque artists to create a collage exhibit meant to spark conversation, creativity and collaboration."

Folds and Patterns
I am just shy of half-way through 56 paintings for Harwood Art Center's Harvest project.
Completing so many small paintings in such a short time has challenged me on so many levels: concentration, interest, time management. How to sustain enthusiasm, quality, and interest. Here's an image of my slowly growing wall of meditations.
In between, my thoughts drift back to patterns and folds. Last year (2013), I visited the Annie Leibovitz exhibition, Pilgrimage. I was captivated by the intimacy of the images of artifacts, clothing, instruments of the individuals she studied. In particular, her photograph of Georgia O'Keeffe's bed at her home and studio in Abiquiu
I've been thinking of beds and folds and patterns. And the traces that are left and what they tell us.
